Just after Hurricane Harvey, the power Irma came slowly and sure caused a lot of damage. Property was damaged, many were injured and dozens of people were confirmed dead. In the midst of the tragedy, there were some heroic acts of kindness that shows there is still good in the world.
Reporters saving dolphins on the beach
A baby dolphin washed ashore a beach in Marco Island in Florida because of Hurricane Irma. Kerry Sanders and some other reporters on the scene helped this poor animal back to the sea. Not long after that, a bigger dolphin washed ashore too and these reporters went right back to work rescuing the life of the dolphin. They selflessly lent a helping hand amidst the destruction of the hurricane, and they made a difference with their heroic act.
First responder stopping to pick the American flag
Now this did not actually safe any life, but we really admire the heroism of first responder, Joseph Schiavo, who stopped amidst the chaos to pick up an American flag. This inspiring gesture was heart-warming and encouraging to watch. The American flag stands to remind people to band together in times of distress and work through the hard times together.
All across the south-east of America and in the Caribbean, thousands of heroic first responders and everyday people saved lives and cared for people during this tough crisis. These are the characteristics we should all display in times of peace as well as chaos.
